Panorama Organic
Certified organic grass-fed beef from California and Oregon ranches
Overview
Panorama Organic sources USDA Certified Organic, 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef from a network of over 50 family ranches in California and Oregon. Panorama started as a farmer-owned cooperative in 2000 and was acquired by Perdue Premium Meat Company in 2019; it now operates as a Perdue-owned brand while keeping its original rancher network.
Full Review
Panorama Organic Meats was founded in 2000 as a cooperative owned by family ranchers in California and Oregon who wanted to transition to organic, grass-fed production but needed the collective scale to reach retail markets. The cooperative grew to include over 50 ranches and controlled over 500,000 acres of certified organic pasture. In 2019, Perdue Premium Meat Company (a division of Perdue Farms, which also owns Niman Ranch) acquired Panorama; it's now a Perdue-owned brand rather than an independent farmer cooperative, though Panorama's leadership and rancher network stayed in place through the transition. All beef is USDA Certified Organic (meaning the pasture is free of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers for at least three years), 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, and raised without antibiotics or synthetic hormones.
Panorama has strong retail distribution on the West Coast, sold through Whole Foods and other natural grocery stores, and direct online through Perdue Farms' own site.

Our Editorial Assessment
GrassFed Source Editorial Team, based on certifications, published farming practices, and aggregated customer feedback. We do not accept payment for reviews or assessments.
The combination of USDA Certified Organic and AGA certification is rare and meaningful. USDA Organic verifies that pasture land has been free of synthetic pesticides and herbicides for at least three years, a standard that goes beyond what AGA alone requires. Worth knowing before you buy: Panorama started as a farmer-owned cooperative but was acquired by Perdue Premium Meat Company in 2019, so it's now a corporate-owned brand, not the independent cooperative it was originally built as. The original ranch network and organic/grass-fed practices appear to have carried over, and the certifications are still current, but the ownership story has changed and we think buyers who cared about the cooperative model specifically should know that. Panorama remains a solid choice for buyers who want organic land certification alongside grass-fed practice verification, especially in the West Coast grocery market where their distribution is strongest. Our assessment is based on their current USDA Organic and AGA certification documentation, Perdue's own product pages, and aggregated customer feedback.
